GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- All visitors are required to have a valid visa to enter Nigeria except for citizens of countries belonging to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Applicants are required to send a duly completed visa application form, proof of payment.
- The Visa Section of the Embassy handles visa applications only on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The submission of applications is on Mondays to Fridays. The collection of all processed visas and other documents is between 9:00am -12:00noon and 1:00pm and 3:00pm with the exception of Nigerian and Gabonese public holidays. The visa application handling time is four (4) working days.
- Visa applicants may be required to come for an interview at the discretion of the consular officer.

For all enquiries relating to Consular matters (passports, Emergency Travel Certificates (ETCs), visas, and other immigration issues), please call (+241) 011732203, (+241) 011730322 on Monday to Friday from 9:00 to12;00noon and 1:00pm – 3:00pm, except on Nigerian and Gabonese public holidays.
NB: Applicants are strongly advised not to make unchangeable and non-refundable travel arrangements before the receipt of their passports with the visa.
- Visa application forms that are not fully completed, signed, and dated, or with incomplete requirements and supporting documents will not be treated.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY CHARGES OR FEES PAID/TRANSFERRED IN ERROR ARE NOT REFUNDABLE.
FOR THIS REASON, THE EMBASSY REQUIRES APPLICANTS TO BE SURE BEFORE TRANSFERRING PAYMENTS FOR SERVICES AS WELL AS SEEK CLARIFICATION IF NOT SURE.
THE EMBASSY OF NIGERIA, LIBREVILLE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A REFUND OF ANY PAYMENTS.
IMMIGRATION:
- Citizens of the Economic of West African States (ECOWAS) do not require entry permits into Nigeria. However, all visitors not exempted from entry permits are advised to apply and obtain appropriate visas from the nearest Nigerian Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate-General before entry into Nigeria, as visas cannot be issued at the port of entry. Early application is advisable to avoid delays.

VACCINATION:
- Health authorities recommend vaccination against cholera and yellow fever from all visitors. Anti-malaria vaccination is also recommended.

EXPORT OF ANTIQUITIES:
- No art treasure may be taken out of the country without written approval from the appropriate Nigerian authorities. This approval must come from the Department of Antiquities or National Museum in Lagos or Jos. The law prohibiting the export of all forms of antiquity, including all ritual as well as contemporary art objects is strictly enforced.
