His Excellency, Ambassador Raymond Udoffe Brown presented his Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nigeria to Gabon to His Excellency, Ali Bongo Ondimba at the Presidential Palace in Libreville on 29th June 2021. 

Ambassador Brown joined the Nigerian Foreign Service in January 1993 and proceeded straight to the Foreign Service Academy, Lagos. After graduating from FSA, he attended a Commonwealth-sponsored Diplomatic Training Course at the Institute of Public Administration, Freetown, Sierra Leone. On return from training, He began his working career as:

  1. Third Secretary (Research & Statistics Division),
  2. Counsellor (ECOWAS Desk)-Multilateral Economic Cooperation Department (MECD);
  3. First Secretary (Office of Pilgrim Affairs-Christian)
  4. Senior Counsellor, Personal Assistant-Director of Administration
  5. Assistant Director (Appointment, Posting and Establishment Division-APED);
  6. Special Assistant to Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF)-Senator Anyim P. Anyim;
  7.  Acting Director-African Union Division;
  8. Head-Foreign/Offshore Operations- Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta/Coordinator, Presidential      Amnesty Program- the Presidency.

 

On oversea tour of duty:

  1. Nigerian High Commission Dar Es Salam, Tanzania- attachment/training;
  2. Counsellor/Head of Chancery – Embassy of Nigeria, Stockholm – Sweden.
  3. Charge d’Affaires, a.i/Minister Counsellor-Embassy of Nigeria, Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
  4. Minister (Political &Economic Affairs), Embassy of Nigeria, Bangkok-Thailand.
  5. Charge d’Affaires,a.i, Embassy of Nigeria, Bucharest, Romania with concurrent accreditation to Slovenia and Bulgaria.

 

Among the Committees/Ad-Hoc assignments performed in the course of my career include:

  1. Secretary, Presidential Committee to look into the problems of NDDC from 2007-2012 headed by Mr. Steve Orasanye – 2012;
  2. Member, Presidential Committee on Needs Assessment for Nigerian Public Universities headed by Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu – 2012;
  3. Secretary, Presidential Committee for the Verification of Outstanding Claims of Depositors for Scrap Vehicles-2011.
