NEW YEAR 2023 MESSAGE BY HIS EXCELLENCY RAYMOND UDOFFE BROWN, AMBASSADOR OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA TO THE REPUBLIC OF GABON

It is with great pleasure and gratitude to God that I address you all on behalf of His Excellency, Muhammadu BUHARI, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for seeing us through the year 2022, despite the challenges we all faced individually and collectively as a nation; also for granting us the privilege to see another glorious year, 2023.

2. The advent of the New Year, 2023 gives me the pleasant opportunity to extend to you and your respective families my best wishes of good health, happiness, prosperity, success and long life. Despite the international context marked by the spread of COVID-19 Pandemic in the previous years with no Continent spared, I sincerely wish that the year 2023 be prosperous and peaceful, both at personal and professional levels, and that the joy of living together in perfect unity be immortalize in our hearts.
3. Permit me to also take this happy moment to convey my warm and fraternal congratulations and encouragement for the high sense of patriotism and solidarity which inhabit the Nigerian Community in Gabon. In effect, since my arrival in Gabon, I always feel surrounded and supported by brothers and sisters who for their country, nourish love from the heart and exude an unshakeable patriotism.        I therefore encourage you to stay the course, promoting our togetherness, an essential leverage of an indivisible Nigeria which is irreversibly moving towards its emergence under the high impetus of the President, H.E. Muhammadu Buhari, President of the Republic of Nigeria.
4. Looking ahead in 2023, general elections would be held in Nigeria, an opportunity that comes after every four (4) years to exercise our civic responsibility by electing our new leaders that will pilot the activities of our dear country for another four years, I enjoin you to vote your conscience, as we all pray for a peaceful free and fair election.
5. You will all agree with me that, Gabon and Nigeria have enjoyed excellent cordial relations over the years, I believe this year 2023 will not be an exception.  In my capacity as the Nigerian Ambassador to Gabon for close to two years, I have strongly sensed the enthusiasm of the Gabonese to deepen cooperation with Nigeria and their expectations to achieve common development. Nigeria is ready to work with Gabon to advance the continuous development of the strategic relationship between the two countries in a more friendly and fruitful atmosphere in various fields.
6. In the same vein, I would like to reassure you all of the availability of the Embassy to work in good synergy with the Nigerian Community in Gabon, with your civil behavior, the Mission, which is at your service will leave no stone unturned in making significant progress within the framework of its dynamic set-up which would continuously be evidenced by the various consular services offered. While congratulating us for the excellent friendly relations, solidarity and cooperation that exist between Nigeria and Gabon, I invite you to remain responsible Nigerians, proud of themselves and respectful to the laws of the host country.
7. Finally, on behalf of His Excellency, the President of the Federal Government of Nigeria, Muhammadu BUHARI, GCFR, the entire staff of the Embassy of Nigeria in Gabon and my humble self, I say Happy, Prosperous and Successful New Year 2023.
